Brother Frank
I wish them to pray. Will you pray with us?
Brother William
Yes. My God, Lord Jesus, we humbly come before thy throne of grace.
We are nothing, Lord. We've all come with the desire to learn. Help us, Lord. We want to go through a few questions and answers. We read in the Bible: Disciples used to ask you questions, and the answers, Lord, you gave to them, they are still helping even today. Lord, help us in this session that every question that will be asked, let your word give us a satisfying answer.
And at the end, let the glory and honor be given to you.
Lord, we pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. Amen.
Dear friends and brothers and sisters and people who will tune in to follow this session, I would like first to greet you with the words of the book of Revelation, chapter 1, verse 3, that says,
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand."
Today is a great honor and privilege. We have Brother Ewald Frank, he's a missionary from Krefeld in Germany, who has visited us today in UK just to come and share the Word, as he has been commissioned to go from city to city and preach the Word.
So it's a pleasure to introduce him and try to go through a few questions that we have for those who are not very much acquainted with this message, and find out a few clarity and see if he could answer.
So welcome once again, Brother Frank.
Thank you.
Brother William
And we have a few questions here that we would like to ask you, just for our audience and people who are not yet familiar with this message of the hour.
My first question first to you is: Would you please just briefly tell us a little bit about your calling, and how did you come to know this message of the hour?
Brother Frank
Well, by God's grace, I had my first experience with the Lord in 1949. Then in 1955, Brother Branham came to Germany. In 1958, I attended the International Convention of the Full Gospel in Dallas, Texas.
And on April 2, 1962, the Lord called me to the ministry.
And in December '62, December 3, Brother William Branham confirmed the calling, repeating word for word the Lord had spoken to me.
Since that time, I was acquainted with the ministry God had sent in our time, especially through Brother Branham, to take our attention back to the Word of God and the promises for this day.
Brother William
Thank you for that.
As you've explained in your calling, you've been acquainted with this ministry of William Branham, and you received also a calling. Brother Branham, as we all know, was a prophet. Are you meant to repeat word for word what Brother Branham preached, or your ministry is a little bit different?
Brother Frank
No, I preached the Word of God, and Brother Branham just shared the Word of God with us. And his message, he always said: "The message of the hour is coming back to the original Word of God." So the message of the hour is the Word of God, nothing else, just whatever is written and promised in God's Word.
Brother William
Now for people who are not in the message, people who are in Pentecostal churches or Baptist Church, Catholic Church, they are also talking about the return of the Lord, and they are also preparing themselves for the rapture. Can they be raptured without being in this message?
Brother Frank
I cannot say who will be raptured and who will not be raptured. I can only say, as it is written about Enoch, Enoch walked with God, and then he was taken to glory. So it's absolutely necessary to walk with God in agreement with the Word of God. We cannot have our own doctrines, our own ways, and make it to heaven.
Our Lord said when he was asked about his brothers and his sisters, his answer was, "My brothers and my sisters are they who do the will of God."
You cannot, I repeat, believe what you like to believe and do what you like to do and make it. You have to walk with God in agreement with the Word of God because that is the will of God. "Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven."
Brother William
But these people, they also claim that God is with them. They are walking with God because they are able to perform miracles. When they pray for the sick, they see people being healed, and that gives them that assurance that God is with them. What would you say to such people?
Brother Frank
No, it has to be in agreement with the Word of God. Because according to Matthew 7 from verse 21, many will come to the Lord and say, "Have we not prophesied? Have we not done miracles? Have we not done all these things?" And our Lord will have to say, "I don't know you. Depart from me." And it's also shown in Matthew 25 that the foolish ones, they can have everything, but they will miss the rapture and then they will knock at the door.
First they were expecting the return of Christ, but then when the return happened, they were not ready. They were walking in their own ways, and then they were knocking.
First they were virgins, but not obeying the Word of God, just walking in their own ways. And the Lord will have to say, "Depart from me. I don't know you." It's very, very serious. We cannot make it to heaven in our own ways.
Even after the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God falls upon all flesh. But the true believers are not only baptized in the Holy Spirit, they are led, led by the Holy Spirit. And that is the difference. The true children of God are led by the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God.
Brother William
Another question, Brother Frank, on that aspect, as you say there, you've touched and mentioned something to do with obedience.
Now, when reading in Matthew 28, verse 19 here, we see the Lord Himself saying, telling His disciples to go and preach the Word, and baptizing people in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
If somebody is baptized in that way, would you consider them as being disobedient?
Brother Frank
No. They try to do the will of God, but without the revelation.
If you read Matthew 28, it's the Commission. But with the Commission, you have to go and see how the Commission was carried out.
So in Matthew 28, the concern is the name. What is the name of the Father into whom I do baptize? What is the name of the Son? So God revealed Himself as Father in heaven, in His only begotten Son on earth, Emmanuel, God with us, and through the Holy Ghost in the New Testament Church. But the name, the New Testament covenant name, is the Lord Jesus Christ.
So with Matthew 28, 19, you must go to Mark 16, 16: "They that believe and are baptized shall be saved."
With this, you go to Luke 24, 47-49. First, we must preach the remission of sins, and then we have to baptize.
And according to the first sermon in Acts chapter 1, the Apostle Peter, under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said, "Repent, everyone, and be baptized into the name…" According to Matthew 28, "into the name" in which God revealed Himself.
And so we go from Acts 2, 38, to Acts 8, verse 16, you go to Acts 10, verse 48, and you go to Acts 19, verse 5 and 6.
Everybody, Jew and Gentiles, everybody, whether in Jerusalem, in Samaria, or in Ephesus, every believer, whether by Peter or by Philip or by Paul, all were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that goes to Ephesians chapter 4, verse 5, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism."
Brother William
So from my understanding there, is it right to say somebody was baptized at a young age, as a baby, as we see the practice in some of the churches, is that baptism still valid? Because there are those who claim: "I was baptized when I was a baby." Is that right? Is that something which is acceptable, according to the Scripture, when one is baptized as a baby and he relies on that?
Brother Frank
Well, that's not baptism. A baby is not baptized. It may be just a few drops of water on the forehead. The Greek word »baptismo« means »to dip under«, to dip under. So baptism means, according to Romans chapter 6, verse 5 and 6, that we die with Christ when we give our life to the Lord. And in baptism we are buried with Christ and we're taken out of the water to show that now we shall not walk in our own ways, but we shall walk in a new life with Jesus Christ, our Lord, with whom we died, with whom we are buried in baptism, so that we walk with him in a new life.
Brother William
Thank you for that, Brother Frank. That's quite clear. In some of your literature that I've been reading recently, one thing I've noticed, you do put much emphasis on Godhead and you've touched many aspects and you've shown some of the teachings that go in many different churches.
My question to you on that is, what's wrong with the teaching of Trinity?
Brother Frank
Well, the teaching of Trinity is not in the Bible and therefore it's wrong.
Philosophers, Greek philosophers have debated from March to June, three months they debated about God, about God, about God in Nicea.
But you don't debate about God. God reveals himself – and as I usually say in the preaching, in the Old Testament, God revealed himself in different ways. He walked in the Garden of Eden as Lord in a visible form, created Adam in his own image. He visited Abraham, Genesis 18, with two angels, sat down and was eating and drinking together with Abraham. And the two angels went to Sodom and the Lord remained with Abraham and said, "How can I keep from you what I'm going to do?" Jacob wrestled with the Lord. In the Old Testament, the Lord God revealed himself and also in the New Testament. It's not a second person and the word Trinity is not in the Bible. Triune God is not in the Bible.
From Romans chapter 1, verse 5 and 6, 36 times we read, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Not about God Jesus Christ, Lord, because the Lord is the visible form of appearance of the invisible God. But it says, "Blessed be God the Father." It never says, "Blessed be God the Son" or "Blessed be God the Holy Spirit." That's not in the Bible. And it never says that God exists in three persons, not a single time, but always… In the first commandment, "I'm the Lord, your God, thou should have no other gods besides me." There's one eternal and not more.
And therefore, the teaching of the Trinity that there are three eternal, three almighty, and even for a moment to think that God as Father in eternity has begotten a son and is given birth to a son… Who are we to believe such a story?! It's impossible! It's blasphemy! No, God reveals Himself.
Brother William
Brother Frank, those who make such claim, they refer themselves to what happened in the Garden of Eden when the Lord said, "Now men have become like one of us." And some they say, "No, let us go and find out." And they refer also to Genesis 18, where it says that when Abraham was sitting, suddenly the Lord came and there were three. And they build on that to defend or justify the teaching of Trinity. So what would you say to such people? Because they also refer to some of the scripture and they say, referring to Matthew 28, as we've touched on, on the baptism, to defend the teaching of Trinity.
So is anybody who believes in this really like an idol worshipper? Would you consider them that way?
Brother Frank
No, first of all, we have to understand that even at the creation, when the Lord God said, "Let us make men," you have to go to Job 38. The angels were present when the Lord created, and therefore they shouted for joy. And if you go to Isaiah chapter 6, when the Lord said, "Whom shall I send and who will go for us?" The cherubim, all were surrounding the Lord. So when he said, "us," that means not persons like the picture of the Trinity, three pictures.
No, the word "us" means the Lord was never by himself. There were the cherubim, the angels and the seraphim were around him.
So by the grace of God, we must go back to the Scripture and not follow our philosophies.
Brother William
Thank you once more for the clarification on that. Another question that comes up as well, Brother Frank.
Many churches today, as we see, they speak in tongues and do many things and they claim that is the evidence that they've got the Holy Spirit. They are not message believers. What would you say to such claim?
Brother Frank
Well, we have said it before. The rain falls upon the seed. Whether it's wheat or whatever it is, the rain and the Spirit is being poured out.
But then we have to go to the seed of the Word of God. The enemy has also sown his seed. But the true seed is the Word of God.
And therefore, those who are the true seed of God, if they're baptized in the Holy Spirit, as I said before, they are led by the Spirit. They obey the Holy Spirit. But those who are not born again, but in the second realm…
We have got three things, body, spirit and soul. And even Brother Branham said, "You can be baptized in the second realm by the Holy Spirit and not even saved and born again in your soul."
So the soul, the soul is the most important. And the Word of God as a seed does not fall into the second realm, but it falls into the soul. And then the Holy Spirit brings that Word to life. But if somebody is not in the Word of God, what seed is then coming up? They can speak in tongues, they can prophesy, they can do signs and wonders, but the Lord doesn't know them because they have not the seed of the Word of God.
Two different seeds. The Lord was sowing his seed and his seed are the children of God. And therefore, we just have to obey the Word of God and always compare ourselves with the Word of God.
Brother William
So it is possible for somebody to speak in tongues and do miracles and prophesy and yet, without having experienced a true salvation, is that clear? Is that possible?
Brother Frank
It's very clear. We mentioned the Scriptures. "Many will come to the Lord in that day."
And here is the point, beloved: I know practically the main charismatic personalities personally. Whether it is R. Roberts or Tommy Osborne or Tommy Hicks or Marius Cerullo or this brother who was born in Israel, Benny Hin. I know them all personally. Even in London, I was together on the platform with Benny Hin many years ago. And they all preach what they wish to preach. They do what they wish to do.
But if you come to them and say, "Listen, what about baptism?" They declare in front of you that the baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is a wrong doctrine.
How can they claim to have the Holy Spirit and deny the true baptism in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ? No. Let them speak in tongues and let them do whatever they do and walk in their own ways. They will not make it. No, they will not make it.
Brother William
Right. That's quite clear there. And it's becoming more clear, especially for those who might be speaking in tongues.
And yet they've never taken the right water baptism.
And there are people who claim that a thief at the cross was not baptized and yet he was saved. And the baptism, water baptism, to really go and get baptized in water is not really necessary. Is that right?
Brother Frank
The truth is this, that when this gentleman called upon the Lord, our Lord said, "Today you will be with me in paradise…" he had no chance. And the teaching that salvation is in baptism is totally wrong. Salvation and forgiveness of sins is in the blood of the Savior. But with baptism, we confirm that we have received the forgiveness of our sins. So this must be very clear by the Word of God.
Brother William
Thank you on that as well. It's quite clear. And in some of the literature as well that I went through, I noticed that you also is of the view that a denomination is not right for somebody who wants to prepare himself for the return of Christ.
What's wrong with a denomination? Or first, what is a denomination and what is wrong with it?
Brother Frank
I'm not a judge. There are now 349 denominations joined in the World Council of Churches. But denominations are formed by man, not by God. And our Lord said, "I will build my church." And then he also said, "the gates of hell will not prevail against it."
And then you go to 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse 12 and 13: "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…" which is the Church, body of Christ. So no denomination is the body of Christ. From all denominations people must come out and believe and receive the salvation.
Brother William
Is salvation possible only for those who are baptized? Is salvation possible only for those who come out? Or can one still experience salvation in a denomination and prepare himself for the rapture?
Brother Frank
Well, this we have to leave with the Lord. The Bible says, "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
But even there, we have the first resurrection and we have the second resurrection.
So in the first resurrection, those from all nations who have went all the way with the Lord, obeying the Word of God, being in the first resurrection. But also those in the second resurrection in Revelation 20, they go into eternal life, but they're not in the bride. They will not be in the marriage supper of the Lamb.
But at the final judgment, at the white throne judgment, they will be received and go into eternal life.
Brother William
Thank you. Time is not on our side. I have another one, another question as well on what we hear, especially today on most of God's channel on TV. We see preachers coming around talking about holy water, anointing oil, and some, they even charge.
What does the Word of God say about this?
Brother Frank
No, that's not the Bible question.
Everybody does as they wish, but the Bible only says "if somebody is sick, let him call the elders that they anoint and pray, and the Lord will heal and raise the person up."
But in general, if we go and preach, we pray for the sick without anointing with oil.
But everybody does as they like, but we go back to the Word of God, and we only do according to the scripture.
Brother William
Now, for somebody who is in such a place, Brother Frank, in a church that practices all these as we've gone through, how would you guide such a person on how to choose a church? How will they go about in order to choose a church in a way that it can help them because there are many sincere people who would love to serve God? So, how would you go about guiding or helping somebody what to look for before choosing the church?
Brother Frank
We can only teach and preach the Word of God.
We can only preach salvation and the forgiveness of sins.
We can only preach "narrow is the way and the gate only few will find."
We can only share the Word of God.
The rest is done by the Holy Spirit in the individual who hears and believes the Word of God.
Brother William
Thank you. Looking now, Brother Frank, from the message perspective, there are many tendencies as well among people who believe the message, many directions, and yet people still refer as well to the prophets of the hour.
So, in situations like that where there seems to be a lot of confusion, what is a good guidance? How can one come out of such a confusion?
Brother Frank
By the grace of God, we fully understand that any misinterpretation is of Satan.
We don't go by any interpretation. We go by the original Word of God.
And this is actually the message of the hour – back to the Word of God.
And as we understand, every wrong teaching brings confusion, brings division, and people follow the man who has confused himself and not Jesus Christ.
So, by the grace of God, we have to understand. You go to Romans 16 and other scriptures, we have to share the Word of God and be not part of any confusion whatsoever.
Brother William
So, is that possible for one believing false teaching and yet claiming to be baptized with the Holy Spirit? Because, as you say there, when the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach. Can somebody be filled with the Holy Spirit and still teach false doctrine? Is that possible?
Brother Frank
As we said before, one thing is the baptism, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. And Brother Branham preached a whole sermon on the anointed ones at the end time. They are anointed, but not in the truth. They walk in their own ways.
So, we have to understand this is God's time for God's people to return without any compromise to the Word of God.
Brother William
Thank you, Brother Frank.
And there is a few more questions before closing. This is to do a little bit with your experience again with Brother Branham.
And you lived in Europe, Brother Branham was in America, and the understanding that you have of Brother Branham's message is a little bit different. Is this because of a human connection or there is God behind it?
Brother Frank
Well, I don't know what you mean, "different." I just differ from all the brothers who have their own interpretations.
When I saw and experienced Brother Branham, from the first service, I just recognized, I knew: this is a man of God. I had no knowledge of Malachi 4 or of anything, but I knew this is a man of God. And of course, in all the meetings, as I told you before, especially the gift when Brother Branham saw a vision. And suddenly, on the 18th of August, the father of the interpreter was in the prayer line, and Brother Branham said, "I see the ocean. I see New York. I see the cars in New York. I see the big buildings. You are from New York. You are a minister. You are a minister of the Church of God, and you came to Germany as a missionary. And this, my interpreter, is your son."
I was sitting there, I was moving on my chair, just without words.
But from the first day, through all the meetings, I realized there is the supernatural power of God working through Brother Branham. And this is the connection from the beginning.
Then, of course, we were in contact. I still have 21 letters. And I spoke to Brother Branham by phone, and I was together with him.
But the main part in my life in ministry is that I met the Lord. Before I met William Branham, I met the Lord.
And then, of course, all the other things the Lord has done by His grace to confirm the ministry.
Brother William
Thank you, Brother Frank.
And another question as well, just in reference of something you mentioned recently on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. You spoke about the breakthrough, that there must be a breakthrough. First experience must be as the last. So, as it was in the beginning, that's how it has to be at the end. Would you elaborate a little bit on that?
Brother Frank
No, I will not elaborate. Because you cannot copy, you cannot copy a supernatural experience. It's between you and God. And you have it or you don't have it, it's between you and God. So just pray and say, "Lord, here is the promise, even in Acts chapter 1." Our Lord confirmed the promise and said, "John the Baptist told you, you are baptized with water and you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." In Acts chapter 1, it's recorded from the 40 days when our Lord spoke with His disciples after His resurrection. And the main point was, "Remain in Jerusalem until you receive the power from on high!"
And as John the Baptist said, "I baptize you with water, you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit." So it's an experience that you have with God.
Brother William
Thank you, Brother Frank.
Your answer is very, very clear because it can lead to imitation and people can copy somebody's experience and build on that.
Thank you for that. That makes it much clearer.
And another question, Brother Frank, this will help as well for those who believe this message. There is a teaching that is going on that only Brother Frank alone is the one who can teach or who has a ministry. No one else has a ministry. Very, very difficult to explain. What would you say to such a teaching?
Brother Frank
No, it remains forever that God has set in the Church the different ministries and in the Restoration the five-fold ministry must be restored.
My ministry is not for a local church. My ministry is worldwide for the whole body of Christ.
But in every local church the brothers have their ministries. It must be there. And if somebody says "Only Brother Frank", that's totally wrong, totally wrong.
God has placed the different ministries into the Church.
And I repeat, as Brother Branham was called to be a prophet, I was called to take what he taught back into the Word of God in a teaching ministry. And in all the brochures, in all the books, I shared what God had given to Brother Branham, the whole plan of salvation with everything included.
But you brethren have your ministries and preach and teach the Word of God.
Brother William
Because when we read in Matthew 24, 45, the understanding is your ministry is established upon other ministries. In other words, ministers take what you have received and share with the body of Christ. Is that how you understand it as well?
Brother Frank
Yes, that's what the scripture says. It's the truth. Nobody in Europe and nobody in the USA has received a direct call like the Lord gave me and Brother Branham confirmed. But as I said, my ministry is not just for a local church. Even when the Lord called me, he said, "Don't establish local churches." That's a commandment. I cannot involve in local churches.
And can you imagine, even the Lord said, "Don't publish a songbook, for it is a sign of a denomination."
So this is a direct call to the ministry, for all the ministering brothers who would have known about the ministry of Brother Branham. When he passed away, people just went home. Everybody went home. It took Brother Frank to call the brothers together in Jeffersonville. There was no sermon printed, nothing. It was Brother Frank to say, "No, we must print the sermons so we can translate them into other languages." That is how the continuation of that ministry has had its course. Yes.
Brother William
So which means, Brother Frank, it is wrong for somebody to say, "Because there is no any other ministry, I can only go and hear Brother Frank." So when somebody is in such a position, that attitude is not right. Because there are people, they can only hear Brother Frank.
Brother Frank
I am not here to answer what people say. I am here to say that everybody, even the elders and the deacons, all have their place. And if you count the names mentioned by the Apostle Paul, Titus, Timothy, and all those who are mentioned, they had their ministries. Even the main commission was given to Timothy, that he should preach the Word. Not only Paul, but Paul was the one who received the divine call. And the other brothers shared in the same ministry.
So it is today. We give out the same food all over the earth.
Brother William
Thank you. I think we are done for all the questions. So rather than me concluding, Brother Frank, I would rather let you conclude and say a few words to our audience. And then we will finish right there.
Brother Frank
My desire is that all brothers who share in the ministry remain sober, clear in their heads, in their hearts, in their lives and serve the Lord in humility and so the bride of Christ will be prepared. Not referring to Brother Frank – Brother Frank has got nothing to do with it. Just preach the Word, teach whatever the Lord has placed upon your heart, but stay in the Word and will of God.
And may all the ministries be complimentary one to another, that every brother could be preaching in his pulpit, in his pulpit, and everywhere share the same pulpit without fearing what is coming now, what is coming next.
Just by the grace of God, stay in the Word of God and the Lord will bless you and be with you. Amen.
Brother William
May the Lord bless us all.
So we've come to the end. Thank you, Brother Frank, for coming and taking all our questions. Would you please summarize and say a few words for our audience to finish?
Brother Frank
So by the grace of God, we understand the time we are now living in. Matthew 24, 14, "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all nations, and then the end shall come." So this is happening now – to all denominations. I preached in many denominations, in Baptist churches, in Methodist churches, in Lutheran churches. One time I also preached in Whitbank, South Africa. I was invited by Bishop Tutu and I preached in a Roman Catholic church after the morning mass. And they gave me 20 minutes, and in the 20 minutes I shared the plan of salvation. And 65 gave their addresses to receive literature.
So the true gospel of Jesus Christ reaches all nations, even now, through the TV stations that we have all over the earth. All denominations are included into the program of God. To some it's a witness, and to the others it's a calling out.
So may God bless you, may God bless you and be with you is my prayer. I've done my part, I shared the Word of God in the whole earth, and now we trust the Lord will have His way.
Brother William
It was a pleasure to have had Brother Frank. You've heard all the questions and they've all been answered. And if you want to know more, the contact will be down. You can just ring and ask. We've got free literature in many languages. And every question, every Bible question can be answered with the Bible.
So may the Lord bless you richly.
The website will be there.
You can tune in every first week of the month and listen to live service and we do believe the Lord will bless you. Stay in peace.
Till next time. Bye.
